
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was drafted by Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early years. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the time and played a major role in helping the team win the league title. Morgan, who was 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She was second in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012, which made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
